Nigel Allerton

I am Nigel Allerton. My first experience with on road training was working with Swindon Council helping & teaching Cycle training Primary School children on their bikes.

I first qualified as a Driving Instructor towards the end of 2003. I started teaching learners and also volunteered to help train full licence holders for RoADAR (RoSPA Advanced Drivers & Riders.) in Wiltshire.

I later successfully attended the RoSPA Diploma course. This enabled me to get on the DVSA Fleet register and start working with companies training their employees who are involved in driving as part of their job.

I also attended the “Teaching disabled people to drive – Approved Driving Instructor” course and worked with BSM teaching students in an adapted automatic car.

I stopped on road training in 2010 and started training as a school teacher. I am now returning to Driving Instruction.

I have passed my Part 1 test (Theory) and have my Part 2 test (advanced driving test) booked for next month. My car is an automatic Kia Niro. It has had dual controls added and is booked in to have hand controls and a left foot accelerator fitted.

What areas will I be covering?
